Earlier this July, M Shadows, along with his band Avenged Sevenfold, were notified that they had to cancel their tour with Three Days Grace and Prophets of Rage and take the summer off, because he had to rest his vocal cords due to viral infection or risk permanent damage. Thankfully, however, the singer had the opportunity to update fans about both his vocal recovery process as well as further plans about A7X.
The band has just released the song “Mad Hatter” as another contribution to the Call of Duty franchise, this time specifically for “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.” The song will reportedly be included with the rest of their Call of Duty songs on an EP titled Black Reign, due this Friday, September 21.
After talking about how hyped he was about the song specifically as well as his love for video games, Shadows expounded on his recovery process. “I got word today that my [vocal] cords are good to go and that I can start the recovery process,” wrote Shadows. “I did two months of no talking or singing and now I need to build it all back up. No damage was done so I’m grateful for that.”
When asked if he had to follow a specific diet or routine to help in his recovery, he replied “I’m always on a diet for singing, also acid reflux pills and lots of water. I could probably start singing very soon but I’m going to take this recovery slow just to make sure everything is as strong as it can be. I’ll be ready to roll for the next record.”
