KCRW Masquerade with Santigold, White Denim, & more @ Historic LA Theatre 10/27

LA’s favorite Halloween extravaganza is back and will be featuring a variety of artists.  This year’s KCRW’s Masquerade costume party will occur on Sat. October 27th. Sounds for the spooky event will be provided by Santigold (DJ set), White Denim, DaM-Funk (DJ set), Wajatta, Cherry Glazerr, Shannon Shaw, and Brothers Griiin (DJ set from Flaming Lip’s drummers). Tickets for the event are going to be $89.90 with some additional fees. The event is strictly for those that are 21 years old or older and will begin at 9:00 PM.

This year KCRW switches it up a bit and will be hosting the event in DTLA. Concert goers will be able to get spooked out in the haunted rooms of the Los Angeles Theatre all while enjoying good music from the stacked lineup of DJ’s. In addition to the musical performances, there will also be theatrical spectacles provided by Lucent Dossier. The cirque style performers will add the perfect entertaining and creepy factor to the event. The masquerade has been deemed as “legendary” by Time Out and “the best costume party in town” by Edge. The event also encourages creative costumes from the whole spectrum whether it be the weirdest, spookiest, or kookiest ensembles.

Not only is this event going to be a great time, but it is also being held for a good cause. All proceedings for the event will go back into KCRW, which is a member of the widely known non-profit media organization, National Public Radio (NPR). With that said, make sure you purchase your tickets for this ghostly event full of nonstop music all night. Get them soon because they’re known to sell out quickly!

Julian Pino: I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. I graduated from California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, California, but I now reside in Los Angeles. I'm very passionate about music and have been trying to involve myself with the culture surrounding it for as long as I can remember. I was recently fortunate enough to work with the thriving new multi-channel network, Create Music Group where I learned many new things about the music industry. Here, I acquired several skills regarding music monetization and even became certified in YouTube Content Ownership. When I'm not working on the clock I usually spend my time finding new music. As a DJ/producer, I take pride in discovering new artists and different types of genres. I recently started a project where I intend to support and share new artists on social media so that they're getting the recognition that they deserve. I also make an effort to attend local shows whether the performers are superstar artists or aspiring artists. Ultimately, I aim to positively impact the community of artists and listeners that are as impassioned about music as I am.
