RIP: Mastodon and Gojira Manager Nick John Dies After Battle with Pancreatic Cancer

Sadly, Consequence of Sound has reported that Nick John, who managed both Gojira and Mastodon, has passed away after battle with pancreatic cancer. A few weeks ago Mastodon had to cancel their fall tour with Dinosaur Jr. due to John’s illness. John had been at the helm of managing Mastodon for quite some time, seeing the band rise to become one of the biggest bands in the metal underground. Gojira saw a similar rise in profile since John started managing the group back in 2012.

Mastodon had just wrapped up an incredible run of tour dates this summer with Primus, which resulted in some awesome shows and some incredible collaborations between the two bands. Mastodon’s lead guitarist Brent Hinds made John’s death public via Instagram a few days ago.

Our thoughts and prayers are with John and his family.
