Children of Bodom Plan to Release New Album in March 2019

Metal band, Children of Bodom are set to release a new album in March 2019. This metal band formed back in 1993 by lifelong friends, Alexi Laiho (guitar/vocals) and Jaska Raatikainen (drums) the band was originally formed under the name Inearthed.

The story of this band is very inspiring. After years of making music, they were signed by a Belgian label, Shiver in 1997. The label had the intention to release the debut album, Something Wild. However, they were approached by a much bigger label called Spinefarm Records who gained interest in their music. The band decided to go with Spinefarm, and changed their name from Inearthed to Children of Bodom, based on the Lake Bodom murders in their hometown of Espoo.

The band became extremely busy once they signed with the bigger label. They began a European tour and rigorous recording schedule, which paid off as they released their second album, Hatebreeder in 1999. Their third album, Follow the Reaper came out the following year. In 2003, they were named Finnish Band of the Year at the Finnish Music Awards after they released Hate Crew Deathroll. They also did their first world tour, however one of their bandmates, Kuoppala left the tour after feeling tired of spending time on the road. The band picked up Roope Latvala as a replacement and continued to tour.

In 2005, they released Are you Dead Yet? but touring was cut short when Laiho injured his shoulder, which forced the band to take a break as he recovered. They kept producing new material and came out with Blooddrunk in 2008, followed by Relentless, Reckless Forever in 2011 and Halo of Blood in 2013. The band also joined Rob Zombie, Amon Amarth and Mastdon at the Mayhem Festival. In April 2015, the band announced a new album called I Worship Chaos. They also released a single, “Morrigan” on video and for digital download.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
