Pale Waves Shares New Bubbling Yet Angsty Track “Black”

Pale Waves is back and, this time, they are better than ever. According to a recent press release, the quartet has gifted us a single of their upcoming and highly anticipated album My Mind Makes Noises. The single, titled “Black,” was proudly released exactly a month before the album, which is due out September 24th via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.

A golden wall of sound rises quickly as a synthesizer brings in the song. Vocals soon take over so as to lead to the verse and chorus structure of the song, playing with the ears of its listeners as it switches from Electronic pop to rock. The music itself lends notes and melodies of inspiration during the breaks between the vocals, giving more power and emotion to this classic rock song. Pale Waves expertly uses the electronic and rock sections as a sort of light and dark juxtaposition, giving happiness without overpowering the more somber parts. See the audio video below for the whole song.

Aside from this single, Pale Waves has also released tracks from the upcoming album such as “Eighteen,” “There’s A Honey,” “Television Romance,” “Noises,” and “Kiss.”

Pale Waves, in support of the album, is also going on a Fall and Winter tour, spanning 3 months. Check out the dates below to see if they’re playing in a city near you.

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
