Swearin’ to Return with First New Album in 5 Years Fall into the Sun for October 2018 Release

Fans of Allison Crutchfield will be overjoyed to hear that her old band Swearin’ is back in the mix with a new album set for an October 2018 release. According to retailer Bull Moose, who is selling an exclusive Coke Bottle clear vinyl record, the band will be releasing their third LP titled Fall into the Sun on October 5, 2018 through Merge Records (who just today announced they’ve signed Fucked Up).

Swearin’ broke up after releasing two beloved LPs 2012’s Swearin’ and 2013’s Surfing Strange. The band, which consists of Crutchfield, drummer Andy Bolt and Kyle Gilbride, eventually fizzled out after Gilbride and Crutchfield’s romantic relationship ended. The band attempted to make it work but the feelings were too raw to continue on. Fast forward five years and Crutchfield launching a successful solo career, and the band is ready to get back together for a new album.

The band had already started writing their third record when they initially broke up. “Drunkenly, without any hesitation or inhibitions,” said Crutchfield, “we asked, ‘What would it take from each of us? What would we need to do this again? What would we want to accomplish if we decided to be a band again?'” The band didn’t want to do the requisite one-off reunion show, instead aiming to continue on where they’d left off with LP number three. The result is Fall into the Sun.
