Knife Party @ Academy LA 7/28

Electro house duo, Knife Party, is set to begin their North American tour in July. Knife Party, which consists of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen from the electronic rock group Pendulum, will be performing in Los Angeles on Sat. July 28 at Academy LA. General admission tickets for the event will cost fans $45 while V.I.P. tickets will cost $100. Guests must be 21 years old or older to attend the show, which begins at 10:00 PM.

The newly opened Insomniac venue, Academy, has quickly gained popularity in the Los Angeles area. Since its opening in January, the venue has already had performances from many popular DJs like Benny Benassi, Bro Safari, Carnage, Don Diablo, Nicky Romero, and YehMe2. It’s apparent that the venue was an immediate success and will continue to thrive as long as it keeps booking fan favorite DJs like Knife Party.

While having many shows in 2017, the Australian DJs have yet to release new music since 2016. The duo have stated that their lack of new music was due to their obsession with “crypto trading” and “Playstation”. Whether this is true or not, it’s evident that they are aware that fans have been craving new Knife Party. Hopefully, this allows the duo to focus on their music so that they can bless us with more hits in 2018. It’s also a possibility that the partners might sneak a new track or two during their tour.

Julian Pino: I'm a recent graduate with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business. I graduated from California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, California, but I now reside in Los Angeles. I'm very passionate about music and have been trying to involve myself with the culture surrounding it for as long as I can remember. I was recently fortunate enough to work with the thriving new multi-channel network, Create Music Group where I learned many new things about the music industry. Here, I acquired several skills regarding music monetization and even became certified in YouTube Content Ownership. When I'm not working on the clock I usually spend my time finding new music. As a DJ/producer, I take pride in discovering new artists and different types of genres. I recently started a project where I intend to support and share new artists on social media so that they're getting the recognition that they deserve. I also make an effort to attend local shows whether the performers are superstar artists or aspiring artists. Ultimately, I aim to positively impact the community of artists and listeners that are as impassioned about music as I am.
