In a recent interview with Kaaos TV, bassist Tim Commerford of Rage Against The Machine/Public Enemy/Cypress Hill supergroup Prophets Of Rage confirmed that a new album isn’t far off. Commorford also revealed that a new single is expected to release this weekend.
“As far as I’m concerned, it [our first album] was a great imprint of us as a band. We made a record, and it was an imprint in time, and we did that,” he said. And we’re on to another record now; we’ve already finished a 13-song record that we are just in the process of just putting together at this moment in time. So there’s a lot going on. We have a new song that comes out on July 7th. And it’s on to new territory, new sounds and new music,” said Commorford.
Commoford was asked other questions during the course of the interview, but made it clear that the band’s desire to make and perform music is always strong, regardless of the circumstances. “To just be in a band and be able to play music and be able to get together with other artists and make music, art and collective consciousness —and work on it together and create something that we all feel great about, like that is a beautiful thing,” Commorford said. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing in a festival or playing in your living room.”
Prophets of Rage will play several dates this summer with Avenged Sevenfold as part of their End of the World Tour.
