Coheed and Cambria Release Science Fiction Inspired Video for New Song “Unheavenly Creatures”

Coheed and Cambria, the progressive rock band from New York, unleash their brand new single “Unheavenly Creatures.” The new song is the title track from their widely anticipated new LP, The Unheavenly Creaturestheir eighth studio album and first at Roadrunner Records. Their new LP, filled with 15 songs reaching over 78 minutes in running time) is the first act in a brand new story arc.

The new track, “Unheavenly Creatures, streaming now via the Marvel website. Accompanied by a video directed by P.R. Brown. The clip released today takes fans inside the story’s opening chapters beginning with our two captured criminals (Creature and Colossus) as they walk through a ship on their way towards judgment. Blinking lights of red and blue fill the screen as we follow the characters on their journey whether they find death or redemption, we don’t know. Sanchez drew inspiration from Marvel comics and fans can see that through the video’s overall arc. There are good guys and bad guys and just like all marvel comics, we look forward to the next chapter. 

This summer, Coheed and Cambria are setting out on a U.S. co-headline tour which will be held mostly outdoors and will feature Taking back Sunday as well as special guests The Story So Far. The tour will feature stops at 28 U.S. cities and is produced mostly by Live Nation. It will begin next Friday, July 6th in Miami, Florida and continue making stops in cities like Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Chicago, Cleveland, Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, and more. Fans can pre-order the album’s deeply immersive Vaxis – Act 1: The Unheavenly Creatures Limited right now. The new box set includes an exclusive eighty-plus page hardcover illustrated sci-fi novel with artwork by Chase Stone, as well as the complete Act 1 novella written by frontman Claudio Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert. The set will also include a fully-wearable hard plastic mask of the main character in The Unheavenly Creatures, a CD copy of the album, as well as the exclusive bonus album, The Crown Heights Demos, which showcases the songs in their original written form. Coheed and Cambria consist of members Sanchez (Vocals / Guitar), Travis Stever (Guitar), Josh Eppard (Drums) and Zach Cooper (Bass). The group has been around the circuit since forming back in 1995. Last month, they returned with “The Dark Sentencer,” the band’s first new music released since their acclaimed 2015 LP, The Color Before the Sun. The song was leaked to fans by Sanchez along with the opening paragraphs from the album’s novella as mentioned above and its release has made a thunderous impact.
