Independent record label 4AD has been around since the 1980s delivering amazing music from artists such as Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance and Pixies as well as Deerhunter, Scott Walker, and Grimes. This fall, the label will present their first-ever tour featuring labelmates Tune-Yards and U.S. Girls. The two bands will hit the road and embark on a cross-country U.S. tour as they support both of their 2018 LPs. This weekend, the label announced ten dates as part of the brand tour with even more dates coming soon.
I Can Feel You Creep Onto My Private Life was released earlier this year by the Tune-Yards with Entertainment Weekly calling the album “politically urgent” while the New York Times calling it “a sleek, radical evolution.” Back in January, the band performed “Heart Attack” and “Look At Your Hands” on both Jimmy Kimmel as well as performing “ABC 123” on Conan. Before the new tour begins, the band will join David Byrne on 1 5 date tour over on the East Coast.
U.S. Girls is the experimental pop project consisting solely of Canadian-American musician and record producer Meghan Remy. She released her latest album In A Poem Unlimited this past February through 4AD. There was a multi-page critic’s essay in the New York Times describing the themes of Remy’s work GQ said of the album; it’s “a compulsively listenable tour de force that’s one of the best pop record of 2018 so far.”
The 4AD tour with The Tune-Yards and U.S. Girls will see performances across North America including stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and Boston to name a few. Fans of both these artists can purchase their tickets to this first ever tour when they go on sale this Friday, June 15th at 10 am.
