Wye Oak Release Introspective New Video for “It Was Not Natural”

Baltimore, MD indie rock outfit Wye Oak, have released a new video for their single “It Was Not Natural.” The song is from their critically acclaimed fifth album The Louder I Call, The Faster It Runs and it tackles the bands signature openly interpretive pop sound. Vocalist Jenn Wasner takes her usual earnest approach and beautifully compliments the foundation created by the solid piano melody. The video expands on their widely embraced sound with dreamy landscapes while providing unique but slightly hidden visuals and beautiful imagery.

Wye Oak formed in 2006 and have been working with Merge Records since 2008. They have released four other records on the label all gaining their own acclaim respectively. They seamlessly have delivered The Knot in 2009, 2011s Civilian, Shriek in 2014, and 2016s Tween.

The band has certainly stayed busy having been included in lineups this year for festivals such as SXSW and Sled Island. They start an extensive summer tour of the U.S. and the UK starting tonight in Asheville, North Carolina. They will hit cities along the way such as Philadelphia, Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles among many more.

Fans can stream the band’s performance in North Carolina via the band’s Facebook page.
