BABYMETAL Play Two New Songs Without Core Member On Opening Night of Tour

Kawaii metal megastars BABYMETAL played the Uptown Theatre in Kansas City, MO last night, but it was yet again without member Yui Mizuno better known as Yuimetal. Although fans did not have to stress too much about the performers absence as the group debuted their new single “Distortion” live and also performed two new songs as well.

Yuimetal’s absence first raised awareness in December after she was seen missing from a handful of shows, two of which were in Hiroshima, but the band stated her disappearance was health related. She has apparently been replaced by two backup dancers for the time being and the newly developed four piece delivered a ten song set to their fans in Kansas City.

The supergroup has released two studio albums, most recently Metal Resistance in 2016, two live albums, one EP and seven video albums. BABYMETAL released a video for the new single on Monday and it features masked warriors, stoned creatures and time portals. They have become known for their dedicated and rabid fanbase so should Yuimetal be a permanently removed member, it will send a shockwave to their fans worldwide. Right now her dismissal can be chalked up as just a rumor and only time will tell whether members Su-metal and Moametal have moved on without her.
