The Icelandic music festival Secret Solstice has much it can brag about: its fascinating 96 hours of uninterrupted sunlight, the very best artists across all genres, and as always, its signature $1 Million ticket, meant for an ultra ultra VIP.
Held in Reykjavik from June 21 to June 24, this year’s lineup features the likes of Slayer, Stormzy, Gucci Mane, Steve Aoki and Bonnie Tyler.
The ticket, which even the festival itself admits as a “princely priced pass,” grants its holder a roundtrip pick up with a business jet meant for six people, as well as an incredibly luxurious stay for the duration of the entire festival week, including a private party with the headline artists.
Separate from the music itself, the festival also provides luxury spa access, a personalized “glam squad,” private dining with “prominent Icelandic chefs in unique Icelandic locations” (they’re really selling the Iceland angle), a chartered helicopter tour, even a catered World Cup viewing party, and thats just the tip of the metaphorical iceberg.
This is all in addition to various complimentary gear from 66North, VIP access to the festival and an on-site fully stocked private lounge. Apparently, there’s even Icelandic hot dogs on offer at Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur, dubbed a “world-famous” hot dog stand.
For those of us who aren’t willing to shell out $1 million dollars on a single weekend, Secret Solstice will also be offering two other more affordable (in comparison) luxury ticket tiers, dubbed the “Package of the Gods” for $14800 and “Oðinn” for $1865. Oðinn purchasers will be able to enjoy perks including a special pop-up lounge, complimentary food and drinks at the festival and various side event discounts. “Package of the Gods,” which there are only three of, also includes helicopter transfers to glaciers and lava tunnels, complimentary access to all side party events, luxury accommodation for two and a private Icelandic dining experience.
According to a representative for the festival, the ticket was first offered in 2016 and while the festival received inquiries about the ultra-luxury ticket, it was not sold. However, the two packages have sold out in the past: Package of the Gods (2016) and Oðinn (2016 & 2017). The Package of the Gods and the million dollar ticket weren’t offered last year.
