Despite losing founder Sean Carlson, the FYF Festival appears to be in full swing for Summer 2018. Major headliner Janet Jackson, as well as the rest of the lineup, was announced today via the festival’s instagram. Taking place July 21st-22nd in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park, the FYF Festival recently caught a lot of attention as Carlson’s shares were bought out by AEG and Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella, following four separate accounts of sexual assault allegations.
This year, the lineup includes Janet Jackson, Florence + The Machine, Future, My Bloody Valentine, St. Vincent, The Internet, Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar, Skepta, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Nina Kravtiz, Rhye, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Breeders, Nils Frahm, Daphni, Yaeji, Mount Kimbie, Glassjaw, Moodymann, Roman Plugel, Car Seat Headrest, Cuco, Bicep, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Curtis Harding, JPEGMAFIA, Youth Code, Neil Frances, Palm, Skating Polly, and Prettiest Eyes.
St. Vincent will be continuing her tour for her latest record MASSEDUCATION, while Janet Jackson, who did not return for the Super Bowl LII Halftime show, has been offered multiple headlining spots at major music festivals. “We are so psyched to have two badass women leading the roster as we head into FYF Fest 2018” said Goldenvoice booker Jennifer Yacoubian in a press release. The Festival will also partner with Plus 1, an organization that will donate $1 from every ticket sold to support local and global communities.
