Matt Costa Announces New Album Santa Rosa Fangs for May 2018 Release And Shares “I Remember It Well”

Matt Costa, the California-based singer/songwriter, has been busy despite not releasing a studio record since 2013. 2015-2016 saw the release of two EP’s, Neon Brain and Anchor & The Albatross, as well as an upcoming appearance at SXSW 2018. His spring tour is accompanied with the release of his first studio album in over five years, Santa Rosa Fangs.

Produced by Peter Matthew Bauer of the Walkmen, the record “center[s] around a fictional young woman named Sharon, her two brothers Ritchie and Tony, and their story of love, loss and coming of age in California, replete with long distance love affairs and nostalgic romance,” according to the official press release.

“I’ve interwoven my own stories into a fictional idea of what Santa Rosa Fangs is, from my own time spent living in Northern and Southern California and years driving up and down the coast, seeing the landscape and where life can pull you within one state,” says Costa, “It’s the characters’ story and my story, too, contemporary but still tortured by the past. It’s a window into a time period but spoken as if it’s the present. The beauty of love and loss doesn’t have a date on it; it’s timeless.”

Santa Rosa Fangs is due out May 18th via Dangerbird Records, with the single “I Remember It Well” out now. Check out the single below, as well as the  tracklisting, album artwork, and current Spring Tour below:
