Bears, rodents and some primates across the world will soon begin their annual hibernation. Grizzly Fest, however, just kicked into gear. Grizzly Fest is not a bear, but it does share some characteristics with its namesake. The two overlap in their size—huge—and their ability to inspire awe. Grizzly Fest recently announced its 2018 lineup; Snoop Dogg will headline.
The festival also added another day to its itinerary, a move that increases its size and will set next year’s performances apart from others. Nas and Foster the People are other notable acts, among a slew of great artists that everybody’s heard of but nobody’s had the chance to see. Eight performers will have made the lineup because their fans voted them in. The festival’s organizers counted over 9,000 votes a few weeks ago that had been cast by locals promoting their favorite acts.
Grizzly Fest will take place at Woodward Park in Fresno, California on May 18th and 19th, a Friday and Saturday. Last year, Lupe Fiasco and Rebelution headlined along with Dr. Dog, Fashawn, and E-40. Snoop Dogg recently expressed interest in trying on Gospel music next year as he did Reggae in 2012. The move suggests an artist on a journey through music. Attendees of Grizzly Fest might be lucky enough to witness the transition without having to be disappointed in him not playing them the songs that made him famous.
Tickets for the festival went on sale on December 19th, and can be purchased here.
