Fu Manchu Announce New Album Clone of the Universe for February 2018 Release

According to Loudwire, the American stoner rock band ends their studio hiatus by announcing a new album for February 9th 2018 Clone of the Universe. The release will mark four years since Fu Manchu’s last album from 2014’s Gigantoid. It is expected to be their most daring album to date. The seven track album features “Il Mostro Atomico,” the longest track in the band’s history, recording a whopping 18 minutes and eight seconds featuring special guest performance by Alex Lifeson, guitarist and songwriter of the famed band RUSH. The rest of the album highlights unexpected time shifts with tracks like “Don’t Panic” and “(I’ve Been) Hexed” and the dynamically elaborate “Clone Of The Universe” and “Slower Than Light.”

“We are excited to get out and play this stuff, especially ‘Il Mostro Atomico,’” comments frontman Scott Hill. “We think it’s some the strongest music we’ve ever done. We really love the overall sound of the album and having Alex play on it is just incredible. It gives it that special validation for the idea that we had to try something like a side long song.”

The group will play two album release gigs on February 9th and 10th in California and will head out to Europe for a headlining tour that begins on March 2nd in Paris. Clone of the Universe marks Fu Manchu’s 11th full-length album, see the track list and tour dates below.

I composed music for a few months in college while living in New York which further sparked my passion for a career in the music industry. Live music is one of my all time favorite things to experience; First Avenue is my favorite venue, might be bias since I was born and raised in Minnesota. Happy ears, happy years.
