Meshuggah, Code Orange and Toothgrinder are teaming up to tour this winter and have just announced their 2018 tour dates. Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah came out with their eighth studio album The Violent Sleep of Reason in October 2016 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album earned them their first Grammy nomination for “Best Metal Performance.” The experimental metal and death metal quintet formed in 1987 in Umeå. Meshuggah is known for its use of elaborate time signatures, clashing guitar riffs, and grating vocals. The group is led by vocalist Jens Kidman, guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, bassist Dick Lövgren and drummer Tomas Haake.
They will be playing the 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise in February 2018, and the band has dropped that they will do a little touring leading up to that appearance. Meshuggah has now announced a handful of dates in January with Code Orange, who released their latest and third studio album Forever in January 2017. The metallic hardcore band’s title track “Forever” is currently up for a Grammy. They formed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2008 and consist of members guitarist/vocalist Reba Meyers, drummer Jamie Morgan, bassist Joe Goldman, guitarist Eric Balderose and a new Dominic Landolina on guitar and synth.
