Recently, Linkin Park gathered at the Hollywood Bowl to put on a commemorative concert for their late bandmate Chester Bennington. The concert titled, “Linkin park & Friends Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington Concert,” featured an array of notable guests such as: Ryan Key (Yellowcard), Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Takahiro Moriuchi (One Ok Rock), Alanis Morissette, Adrian Young (No Doubt, Dreamcar), Tom Dumont (No Doubt, Dreamcar), Tony Kamal (No Doubt, Dreamcar), Steven McKellar (Civil Twilight), Jon Green, Isley Juber, Julia Michaels, Kiiara, Sydney Sierota (Echosmith), Zedd, Machine Gun Kelly, Oil Skkes (Bring Me The Horizon), Jonathan Davis (Korn), Ryan Shuck (Dead By Sunrise), Amir Derakh (Dead By Sunrise), Jeremy McKinnon (A Day To Remember), Daron Malakian (System Of A Down), Shavo Odadjian (System Of A Down), Frank Zummo (Sum 41), Derrick Whibley (Sum 41)), Blink 182, M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), Synyster Gates, Bebe Rexha and Steve Aoki. Bennington was clearly loved by his fellow musicians.
Chester was also very loved by fans. With one of the most loyal fan bases, Linkin Park’s recent One More Light Tour was flying success. However, the tour was cut short by Bennington’s tragic death. The remaining members of the band, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Dave Farrell and Joe Hahn, have decided to release a special live album to commemorate their last tour with Bennington. One More Light Live will feature live clips from their recent world tour. Eight of the songs are from their most recent album, while the other eight are hits that span the entirety of their seventeen year long career.
The band dedicates the album to Bennington who worked so hard on their most recent album. The band told Spin that they hope the album will help fans continue to heal and give fans who didn’t get to see them on their final tour, glimpse into the magic that happened on stage. According to the band, Chester felt this was the best tour they had ever done. The band already released the live version of “Crawling,” already. They take the fast-paced, brutal song and slow it down and add piano. Chester sings vulnerably, giving fans an introspective look into his soul. They take their well known song and turn it into something completely new. The rest of the songs are sure to be as dynamic and exciting. The rest of the album will be released on December 15th.
