King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard are working toward completing their ambitious plans of releasing five albums this year. The psychedelic rock band have announced album number 4, Polygondwanaland set to come out this Friday, November 17th. They have stated that the album is free and can be downloaded on their website. “This album is FREE. Free as in, free. Free to download and if you wish, free to make copies. Make tapes, make CD’s, make records.” Polygondwanaland follows their first three albums of the year, Murder of the Universe, Flying Microtonal Banana and most recently Sketches of Brunswick East, released in August.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard shared a post via Facebook explaining all the ways in which fans can create their own CDs and Vinyl, providing the files and artwork that makes it possible. “Ever wanted to start your own record label? GO for it! Employ your mates, press wax, pack boxes. We do not own this record. You do. Go forth, share, enjoy. P.s. If u wanna make cassettes I don’t really know what you would do. Be creative. We did it once but it sounded really shit. Maybe try the WAVs idano.” See the full Facebook post and album artwork below.
