Goldenvoice is bringing a very Tsnmi Christmas to Los Angeles this December with Kehlani & Friends. Coming to the Novo DTLA Dec. 11, Kehlani will be supported by WILD and Superwhatevr. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and the event will begin at 8:00 PM. The event is also an all ages event–so everyone can enjoy. Ticket prices range from $45 to $60.
Kehlani has about 11 upcoming tour dates up on her website right now, spanning across the western part of the United States and Mexico. She will be at Sound on Sound Fest in Texas this weekend and next she’ll be at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City. She hits her hometown of Oakland, CA for a two-night performance at the Fox Theater first before making her stop in LA. After that, she will travel to the Observatory in Santa Ana and end her tour in San Diego at the Observatory North Park.
Kehlani has always been a singer, and she sings soul like no other. Nylon has said that the singer has an “uncanny ability to write lyrics that strike chord within her listeners” as well as being able to sing to her audience with raw and moving emotion. Getting her start with teen group Poplyfe, she released her first solo commercial mixtape, Cloud 19 in 2014. It was subsequently named one of Complex’s “50 Best Albums of 2014.” Complex called the album an “outstanding debut,” saying that “the fruits of her labor are obvious.”
Kehlani released her second commercial mixtape, You Should Be Here, the following year. The mixtape debuted at number 5 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, along with selling out a large North American tour. The mixtape also peaked at number 36 on the Billboard 200.
In 2016, she was nominated for the Best Urban Contemporary Album Grammy Award for You Should Be Here. Kehlani released her first major-label debut album, SweetSexySavage, in early 2017. The album peaked at number 2 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, as well as peaking at number 3 on the Billboard 200. Since the release of SweetSexySavage, Kehlani has been really busy on tour. She just never seems to slow down her grind.
