Goldenvoice is bringing the highly acclaimed rock band the Neighbourhood to the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles Dec. 14. A perfect Christmas gift, the show is an all ages event. It’s on a Thursday, so you might need to take the next day off for work. If anything, it just means you won’t be dealing with weekend traffic.
Doors to the event will open at 8:00 PM and the show will promptly begin at 9:00 PM. Ticket prices will start from $30, but considering that the show is so highly coveted, concert-goers might be looking at a heftier price tag. As of this morning at 10:30 AM this event is sold out, but that doesn’t mean Stubhub isn’t selling tickets. The change hasn’t even been made to the bands official website yet. Here’s a link to that page so you can check the tour dates as well.
The Neighbourhood has 10 upcoming tour dates from December until March of next year, which include Lollapalooza 2018 in Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Their Mexico City dates are all currently completely sold out. Filtering back and forth from LA to Mexico and to Texas, the group will be staying on the western side of North America for now. Singer Jesse Rutherford also is performing at the Echo Nov. 24, but that event is sold out as well.
As far as support goes, no openers have been released for the event, however that could be up in the air. Who knows who will actually open for the group, but it’s sure to be someone good. If not, fans will probably still be okay without an opener.
Formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011, the group the Neighbourhood is composed of vocalist Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott and drummer Brandon Alexander Fried. The group has released four EP’s, a mixtape and two albums together.
After the releases of I’m Sorry…, The Love Collection and Thank You, the group released their debut album, titled I Love You., in 2013 through Columbia Records. In fact, all of their music has been released via Columbia Records and the Revolve Group. In 2014, the group released the mixtape titled #000000 & #FFFFFF. The band’s second album, Wiped Out!, was released in late 2015. Although a new album hasn’t come out since then, the group did release another EP, titled Hard, in 2017. The album peaked at number 183 on the Billboard 200 charts.
