The Los Angeles Philharmonic is set to host the 2017/18 Songbook series at Walt Disney Concert Hall, with three close evenings with some the world’s most celebrated performers, according to a press release. The series will begin with the magnetic Leslie Odom, Jr., who played Aaron Burr in Broadway’s Hamilton, performing songs with a four-piece combo, according to a press release. World known and highly acclaimed singer-songwriter Glen Hansard will also make a comeback performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. And lastly, the hypnotic Art Garfunkel will make his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut.

Leslie Odom, Jr.
Leslie Odom, Jr. – who won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in Hamilton – is set to display songs from his 2014 self-titled debut hit, as well as throw in a few holiday favorites from his latest album, Simply Christmas, which is supported by a five-piece combo. Odom, Jr. originated the role of “Burr” in a sold-out run at The Public Theater in 2015, earning himself a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical.

Highly lauded singer-songwriter Glen Hansard (The Swell Season, The Frames) – star of the Oscar-winning film Once and its Tony Award-winning musical adaptation – is expected to come to Walt Disney Concert Hall for two charismatic performances of emotionally moving melodies and pure, raw passion. The first concert takes place on Saturday, March 10 at 8:00 PM. The next day will be when he is joined by the Los Angeles Philharmonic; this Sunday event takes place at 7:30 PM.
