Shout out to the Echo. Detroit native Shigeto is coming to the Echoplex Saturday, Nov. 11 and he’s bringing Ela Minus along with him for support. The 18 and over event begins at 8:30 pm, and will cost concert-goers about $15. If you happen to buy your ticket the day of the event, it’ll cost $18.

With eight dates spanning over the month of November, Californians will get three chances to see Shigeto, starting in San Francisco at Ricksaw Stop, but Angelenos only get one night. The tour will begin Nov. 6 in Brooklyn, New York at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg and end Nov. 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the Imperial.

Ela Minus recently just got back from a US tour with Austra, according to Brooklyn Vegan, and is on tour overseas until the start of the tour. Earlier this year, Ela Minus released the new EP titled Adapt. She also just recently put out a music video for the track “A.R.P.,” according to Brooklyn Vegan.

Shigeto’s latest release, The New Monday, came out this year on Ghostly International. The album pays tribute to various music genres, expertly mixing percussion, jazz, hip hop and electronica. Shigeto creates swanky bedroom beats and hypnotic, soulful house jams that are perfect to sway your hips to.

Some of the genres that Shigeto, also known as Zachary Shigeto Saginaw, describes himself as influenced by range from instrumental, jazz, rap, r&b, soul, house, techno, IDM, ambient, j-pop, drone and jungle, according to his Facebook page. He has released four studio albums and five EPs since 2008.

His debut album, Full Circle, came out in 2010 via Ghostly International. His next album, titled Lineage, was released in 2012. Pitchfork said the album “follows 2010’s Full Circle with a mini-LP of homespun electronic music that traces his family bloodlines along with electronica’s recent past.” Shigeto followed up with No Better Time Than Now, which was released in 2013.
