This one’s going to be a good one. Canada is coming to the United States. Heading to the Novo in Downtown Los Angeles Wednesday, Nov. 15 is Death From Above and the Beaches. The all ages event will cost anywhere from $27 to $35. Doors will open at 7 pm and the event will start promptly at 8 pm.
Spanning over 37 dates and multiple countries, Californians get three dates to see the bands perform; but Angelenos only get one date in their area. The tour will begin Nov. 2 at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio and end Mar. 15 next year at the 02 Academy in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Death From Above is going on tour to support the release of their newest album Outrage! Is Now.
Death from Above, also known as Death from Above 1979, is a Canadian rock duo composed of drummer and vocalist Sebastien Grainger and bassist Jesse F. Keeler. The duo formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2001.
It’s not exactly known how the two met, with some being “told it was on a pirate ship and others that it was in prison, but where they met didn’t matter – what mattered was what they had and what mattered even more was the fact that they had made of the 2000s’ most exhilarating albums,” according to NME Magazine.
After releasing only one studio album, You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, the duo disbanded. The album gave listeners three singles to work with, and then all of a sudden, the band was done. An intense fusion of hardcore dance punk, industrial and disco, the band instantly became a cult classic across the world.
That following never died down in the years that the band was on their indefinite hiatus. Almost 10 years later, in 2011, the two got back together and released their first album, titled The Physical World.
