Goldenvoice Presents The Sounds At The Fonda Theatre 11/13

For two nights, fans of the Sounds in Los Angeles will get a chance to see them perform live at the Fonda Theatre Sunday, Nov. 12 and Monday, Nov. 13. The Sounds are embarking on this tour to commemorate 10 years since the release of Dying To Say This To You. Each night is sure to be one to remember.

Spanning across 16 dates from Mexico to Sweden and Denmark, the tour kicks off Nov. 8 at the Observatory in Santa Ana. The next day, the band drives up to San Francisco to perform at the Regency Ballroom. There are eight tour dates set for California alone, but there’s only two in LA. Both dates still have some tickets available but considering that the concerts’ in a couple weeks, they will probably sell fast. Get them now while you can.

The all ages event begins at 8 pm and will feature the support of openers Fitness and GGOOLLDD. Doors to the concert will open an hour prior, at 7 pm. Tickets cost $28 before taxes and are around $38 after taxes, via AXS.

Hailing from Helsingborg, Scania, Sweden, the Sounds formed in 1998. An indie rock band, the Sounds is reminiscent of new wave bands like Blondie. Their debut album, Living in America, was released in 2002 to favorable reviews. The album produced five singles; the second single, “Living in America”, reached number three on the Swedish single charts; the song is also featured in the 2010 video game, Rock Band 3.

The band followed up with the highly anticipated Dying to Say This to You in early 2006. The album was generally received well, with songs getting airtime during CSI: Miami and The Hills. A song was also remixed for the Snakes On A Plane soundtrack album.

Their third album, Crossing the Rubicon, was released mid-2009, and their fourth, Something to Die For, was released two years later. Their fifth album, Weekend was released on late 2013. After a four year hiatus, the band released an EP titled The Tales That We Tell.
