An evening of fun is fast approaching. Various musicians and artists will come together Tuesday, Oct. 31 at The Hotel Café in Hollywood, CA for an evening to commemorate Tom Petty’s music and legacy.
Dubbed the “Tom Petty Masquerade Ball: A Rock N’ Roll Celebration” the Cary Brothers will host the exciting event along with Manda Mosher from CALICO and Record Executive and Music Supervisor Eric Craig. The artists performing are far and wide: Joe Purdy, Joshua Radin, Cary Brothers, Liz Phair, Paul Doucette from Matchbox Twenty and more are set to be featured that night. A full list of confirmed artists is at the bottom of this short article.
“I can’t begin to express what Tom Petty has meant to me and to Matchbox Twenty,” said Paul Doucette of Matchbox Twenty, according to a press release. “He is the unifying factor for us…the bar to which we measure. Always has been and always will be.”
American folk singer-songwriter Joe Purdy remembered the artist as being able to “take a situation in life and break it down to its simplest core, express it in way that you immediately understood his intention, all the while making it sound incredibly fucking cool.”
The plan for the whole evening is that artists will intimately share the stage and their deep admiration for the late iconic artist, drawing from his immensely cherished catalogue, according to organizers.
Tickets are on sale now for the all-night show (7pm-1am) via The Hotel Café’s website. Proceeds will be going to the organization The Midnight Mission, who Tom Petty was close to over the years.
