Goldenvoice is bringing out Jhené Aiko this winter. The Trip tour begins before the Christmas season with support from Willow Smith, Kitty Cash and Kodie Shane at the Novo in DTLA Dec. 13. This is a night of true girl power and concert goers will definitely not want to miss it. While California will get a few dates during the tour, there’s only one night in Los Angeles, so make sure to grab your tickets soon.
The singer announced her North American tour will span over 16 dates, according to The Fader. Starting at 8:00 pm, doors will open at 7:00 pm to the public. Ticket prices will range anywhere from $32.50 to $45. The event is also all ages, so the family can come enjoy the fun.
A songwriter, LA native Jhené Aiko has been active since 2002. She gained popularity through her features with R&B group B2K. Aiko signed to Epic/TUG as 12 year old child, and asked to be released from both companies at the age of 16 in order to finish high school, according to her Facebook page.
“I escaped the made up world of Hollywood to experience the natural beauty of the real world,” her Facebook page says.
Aiko has released one mixtape, a compilation album, and two full-length albums. Her first mixtape, Sailing Souls (2011), was critically acclaimed and became a quick hit amongst the public. It was a self-released project, Her debut album, Souled Out, came out in 2014 through Artium and Def Jam Records. The album peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and topped the US R&B/Hip Hop charts, showcasing the artist’s talent and reach across multiple audiences. Aiko had gone mainstream. Next, she released a compilation album with Big Sean in 2016.
Her second album, Trip, was released this year through Def Jam Records again. Another album well received by music critics and fans, Trip made it to number 5 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on the US R&B/Hip Hop charts.
