Get ready! Pig Destroyer will be playing three West Coast shows in December with Despise You, Necrot and Call Of The Void. Oakland gets a date at the Metro Operahouse, San Diego gets a date at Brick By Brick and Los Angeles gets a date as well. But LA gets the first date.
Angelenos get a chance to enjoy a little metal Dec. 07 at the Regent Theater. The show is ages 18 and up and will only cost a concert goer $16 beforehand. If you wait until the day of, ticket prices go up to $22.50. Doors will open at 7:30 pm. Tickets just went on sale last Friday so you still have time to cop a ticket.
Following a five year hiatus since 2012’s Book Burner, Pig Destroyer recently announced they have entered the studio to record once again, meaning this tour is in support of that effort. The group are aiming for a Summer 2018 release date via Relapse Records, according to Metal Insider.
Formed in 1997, Pig Destroyer is known as an American grindcore band from Alexandria, Virginia. Their discography consists of five studio albums, two compilation albums, four extended plays and five split albums. In 1998 the band released Explosions In Ward 6 via Clean Plate Records.
In 2000, they signed to Relaspe Records and recorded a split EP with Isis. Their first compilation album was released shortly after; the album included all of their work for the past three years, including a split with Gnob and well-known screamo band Orchid.
Their next record, Prowler In The Yard, was highly acclaimed, receiving attention from mainstream rock critics. The album propelled the band into tours with huge acts like the Dillinger Escape Plan. In 2004 their next album, titled Terrifyer, was released, as well as another compilation album. Three years later, Phantom Limb was released through Relapse. And then five years passed before the release of the last full-length, Book Burner.
