Third Man Records Announces New Vault Package The White Stripes Live In Detroit: 1999-2000-2001 for October 2017 Release

In honor of the White Stripe’s 20th anniversary, Third Man Records has announced a special collection: Vault Package #34 — The White Stripes Live in Detroit: 1999-2000-2001. The vault package will include three vinyl recordings of pivotal shows in the history of the White Stripes,  alongside their respective concert posters.

The first vinyl is a recording of The White Stripes headlining the Magic Bag on July 30th, 1999. It took place in Ferndale, a northern suburb of Detroit for fans who didn’t want to venture to the city. It was the first show played after the release of their self-titled album, and the first time that Meg ever used a piano in a live set.

Next up is The White Stripes playing at Detroit’s Magic Stick on August 18th, 2000, supported by the Greenhomes and Whirlwind Heat. The show came just after the end of their West Coast tour.

Finally, the last recording places The White Stripes at the Gold Dollar in Detroit on June 7th, 2001. In one of the most packed shows in Gold Dollar history, Jack and Meg played their new record, White Blood Cells, front to back. In the band’s entire history, this was the only time they’d ever played a whole record front-to-back.

The order deadline is October 31st, and can be pre-ordered here. A Soundcloud playlist featuring teasers of the package’s audio can be found here. If you need more Third Man Records quality reissues, you can check out their recent re-release of Muddy Water tapes. Or if you just want more White Stripes, check this vault package which includes previously unreleased songs.
