Bjork has been very productive this year. Since the beginning of 2017 the Icelandic singer has done two music festivals like Ceremonia and FYF Fest, released a music video for her song “Notget” off her last album Vulnicura, and a couple months ago discussed her upcoming album Utopia with Pitchfork saying that it would be a telling “Tinder record” of past romances. Well according to reports from Pitchfork it seems that Bjork is ready to give out a sample of the past romances that Utopia will display by releasing her the album’s debut single “the gate.”
The sound of the new track can be described in her past interview when she stated “I mean, it’s real. It’s when the dream becomes real.” “the gate” sounds like your in a universe that can only be created by emotions of a dream, while hearing Bjork frequently chanting “I care for you” throughout the song. The allure of Bjork’s voice & production combined has the ability to captivate listeners into hearing one of the many different love stories & emotions that Utopia is sure to provide.
