Clutch, Devin Townsend Project and Obsessed Announce Winter 2017 Psychic Warfare Tour Dates

Groove rockers Clutch have announced a new tour at the end of the year featuring the Devin Townsend Project and The Obsessed as direct support as reported by The Prp. Clutch has been very active the past couple of years, touring across the world in support of 2015’s Psychic Warfare, which included slot on Tool’s massive show at the Glen Helen Amphitheater earlier this year. The band also plans on entering the studio in early 2018 to begin recording process for their twelfth studio album. Clutch has gained a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the metal scene, continuing to jump on tour after tour with a vast array of metal bands, such as Lamb of God and The Sword. The group has been going strong for over twenty-five years, and there is no indication that they will be slowing down anytime soon.

The always prolific Devin Townsend has been hard at work writing four new albums with the singer/guitarist looking to broaden his style and move away from the metallic crunch of his previous releases with the Devin Townsend Project. Also, Townsend has been busy in other areas, releasing brand new lyric video for the song “Offer Your Light” and reuniting on stage with the legendary Steve Vai, whom Townsend recorded with in the early 90’s, at the Starmus Festival. The Devin Townsend Project has been touring throughout the year and will be performing the entire Ocean Machine album in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, which will be recorded for special concert blue ray/DVD shortly. Ocean Machine was Townsend’s first solo release, which was written during the time that the legendary band Strapping Young Lad was formed by Townsend. Ocean Machine was a significant departure from the unrelenting abrasiveness of Strapping Young Lad and foreshadowed much of the musical output that was to follow from Townsend’s solo releases.
