Since 2003, folk rock group Blitzen Trapper has spent their career creating well received albums such as Furr, American Goldwing, All Across This Land and etc.. Well it seems that Portland natives are planning to release more musical gems before 2017 comes to an end. According to Entertainment Weekly, Blitzen Trapper has announced that November 3rd will be the arrival date of their upcoming album Wild and Reckless and has shared the group’s lead single “Rebel.”
Blitzen Trapper’s guitarist Eric Earley described the band’s new album to Entertainment Weekly by stating “Wild and Reckless is something like a cross-eyed stepchild to Furr, in that it chronicles the darker dystopian stories of rural and suburban West Coast death-drive via a riffing psychedelic landscape. Ten years after Furr, with all its talk of murder and the end of the western world, it seems there’s more to tell about the end of America.”
Early later discussed the feeling of the Wild and Reckless‘s lead single “Rebel” saying “‘Rebel’ is a song about a guy who for the love of a girl follows in his father’s footsteps only to find it to be a scam. After several tries at the American dream, he ends up selling cocaine to blue bloods in the Hollywood Hills.
