One of hip hop’s most savage Latinx rappers is coming to the El Rey Theatre Nov. 22 and it won’t be an event to miss. Goldenvoice is bringing out Snow Tha Product on a Wednesday night for only $20. While there’s no word on who is opening for the show, it’s bound to be a good night. Especially if you maybe got tickets to see her at the Spaceland Block Party that was cancelled late last month.
Snow Tha Product, also known as Claudia Alexandra Madrid Meza, is a Mexican-American hip hop recording artist hailing from San Jose, California. She set the bar for Latinx rappers by rapping in both English and Spanish, also relying on her lyricism in order to garner a cult following before getting her big break with Atlantic Records.
Snow released her first album Unorthodox in 2011 via Street Science and Product Ent. The two singles off the album “Drunk Love” and “Woke Wednesday” went viral, both bringing in over a million views on YouTube. “Holy Shit” is the absolutely ruthless track that brought her into the limelight thanks to a little push from rapper 50 Cent. In 2012 she released the mixtape Good Nights & Bad Mornings. After signing to Atlantic in 2013 she released Good Nights & Bad Mornings 2: The Hangover, which was loaded with guest appearances from other rappers like Tech N9ne, Ty Dolla Sign, and CyHi the Prynce. The mixtape received favorable reviews.
Snow has been featured alongside Lupe Fiasco and Too $hort. She’s been on tour with the Kottonmouth Kings. She worked on The Hamilton Mixtape. She’s worked with Pnb Rock. She’s also an actress in her spare time. Needless to say, Snow has been busy. Really busy. In 2015 she released the mixtape The Rest Comes Later. She went on tour to support the mixtape. The next year she released her EP Half Way There…Pt. 1 which peaked at number 13 on the US Rap Billboard charts.
