When September ends, singer and multi-instrumentalist Moses Sumney will debut his new album to the whole world but today, Sumney shares something else to the world. Today, the singer releases his third track titled “Indulge Me.”
Sumney forthcoming new album features the new single as well as his previously shared tracks, “Quarrel” and “Doomed.” Aromanticism is scheduled to be released digitally and physically later this month through Jagjaguwar.
“Indulge Me” which debuted today as Zane Lowe’s World Record” when he played the track during his Beats 1 show. The track is not only filled with acoustic guitars and deep synths but also filled with dramatic vocals as Sumney sings about abandonment with lyrics such as; “All my old lovers have found others, I was lost in the rapture, dead sea as barren as a stutter / And colored laughter/ I don’t trouble nobody, nobody troubles my body, after all my old others have found lovers.”
A quiet song, “Indulge Me” works on a higher meditative level that one can simply put headphones on and slip away. Forget those Bon Iver records, Moses Sumney is about to move hearts.
Aromanticism, which will make its debut on September 22nd, is a concept album and is said to be about lovelessness as a sonic dreamscape. The album was created over the course of three years while Sumney traveled the world. Not only will the album include the recently released singles but also include new versions of both “Lonely World” and “Plastic.”
