Twinsmith – Stay Cool

Twinsmith Stay Cool with a Beautiful Indie Pop Album

Stay Cool, the latest release from indie pop duo Twinsmith, is a fun album that will not leave audiences disappointed. The LP features a synth-pop sound, and its songs are danceable and upbeat while maintaining unique atmospheric and lo-fi elements.

These qualities can be heard on the opening track of the album, “Hug Me.” The song makes great use of synthesizers and features well-crafted drum patterns. It also carries light, airy vocals and instrumentation. It is easy to get carried away with the music.

One of the singles from the album, “You and I,” also adeptly captures the aforementioned synth-pop vibe. The synthesizers sound absolutely amazing, featuring layered lines that combine to create a thick, powerful sound. Yet, still, the airy feeling that carries the listener through the song is maintained, and the solo is astoundingly beautiful.

The atmospheric aesthetic is carried over to the next song on the project, “Matter;” but this time it features lighter melodies over a thick bass line. The airy vocals sound majestic alongside the melodies and bass guitar. The song is also a good change of pace for Stay Cool, slowing things down a little bit.

One song that really stands out on this album is “Only You.” The instrumentation is simply exceptional, as the duo present listeners with a lo-fi sound crafted using retro-style production techniques. Again, the song is easy to get lost in and the layering of sounds adds to this enjoyment. Simply put, “Only You” is a beautiful piece of music.

The synth-pop sound of this album really helps it to shine. It is a ton of fun to listen to and will be particularly appealing to fans of lo-fi production. The danceable, upbeat feel on some of the songs helps to vary the pacing of the album, yet it still manages maintains a sense of fluidity between the songs. None of them feel out of place, seamlessly flowing together. Overall, Stay Cool is an amazing project that is definitely worth checking out.
