It’s not often that a musician forms one iconic, successful band – let alone two. Peter hook did that as a founding member of both New Order and Joy Division. It was announced this morning that he and his band, Peter Hook & The Light, will be bringing back their “Substance” tour to North America in fall of 2018. What is special about this tour is that Peter Hook will be playing both albums named Substance by Joy Division and New Order in their entirety.
The ability to play two widely popular albums by different bands is something unique to Peter Hook, and makes this tour special. Substance by Joy Division was released in 1988, and was both critically acclaimed and the band’s most commercially successful album. The story is similar for Substance 1987 by New Order, which contains all of the band’s singles and received across the board rave reviews.
The tour kicks off in Brooklyn on April 27th, and tickets are currently available for pre-sale here. General sale will begin on July 21st.
