As they gear up to release their latest album, American Dream on Sept. 1, alternative American rock band LCD Soundsystem has announced additional tour dates for the upcoming Fall 2017 world tour.
To ensure that the latter part of the bands’ year remains jammed packed with live performances, they’ve added shows at The Anthem in Washington D.C., The Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit, MI and they’ll be performing two nights at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL that will slightly extend their five month tour.
After taking a hiatus from the music scene following their final performance in Madison Square Garden, David Bowie convinced James Murphy to make himself uncomfortable and reform LCD Soundsystem. James Murphy revealed in a BBC Radio 6 interview, “I spent a good amount of time with David Bowie, and I was talking about getting the band back together,” he recalled. “He said ‘does it make you uncomfortable?’ I said ‘yeah’, and he said ‘good, it should, you should be uncomfortable.’”
Since their celebrated return, the group has been making their around the festival circuit, playing Coachella in 2016, and are currently listed to perform at the Voodoo Festival in 2017, alongside headliners Kendrick Lamar and the Foo Fighters. The three day festival will be taking place on October 27-29 in New Orleans, LA so if you’re looking to spice up your Halloween plans this year, be sure to catch your favorite dance punk outfit this year in the Big Easy.
