“5 Star Bar” hosted Nachtmystium’s first show in nearly five years. The band played a special full-album performance. Nachtmystium also played a full album performance at “Festum Carnis” in Wisleyville, California the next day.
In a previous article written for MXDWN the group’s lineup was announced. It includes Jacob Dye on guitar, Oystein Albrektsson on bass, Jean-Michel Graffio on drums and Blake Judd. All of which were excited to be greeted by a big crowd at “5 Star Bar” in Los Angeles Friday night.
Mentioned in an article on THEPRP News the band made a comment moments before they performed,
“Its happening…now. Nachtmystium’s first show in nearly five years. The band goes on at midnight. Nice big crowd here…we are thrilled to be back and to see all of you here tonight… 1 hour, 37 minutes ’til stage time.”
A video of the full performance is below:
Members of the band could be found at the merch booth issuing refunds to anyone that pre-ordered merchandise from band member Judd from 2012-2014 and never received it. In a comment made by the band regarding the issue they posted,
“Merchandise is available AND we are issuing cash refunds/merchandise for anyone whom may have ordered between 2012-2014 and didn’t receive an order. Just come see us at the merch table, we will get you sorted out and also refund you for the fee you were charged at the door…the show is on us if you were victimized in the past. ”
Generally ordering items online can take anywhere from 24 hours to as long as 24 weeks to finally arrive. However, the band admits to fans that the merchandise ordered online from Judd was a scam.
Between the years of 2012 to 2014, Judd tricked fans into pre-ordering merchandise which was never intended to be shipped. This was all at the height of his heroin addiction. Another article goes in-depth about his addiction and can be read here. In a comment made regarding his dark days getting hooked on the drug he mentions,
“In the United States especially these—I’m sure it might be true worldwide—there’s a massive heroin epidemic. They say that somewhere between 80-90% of the cases of people in their 20’s and early 30’s who are using heroin, it’s the result of an accident that was treated with opioid pain medicine. Doctors were just passing it out like it was no big deal and these medicines have become very strong. Oxycontin in particular, that’s what I was given for my broken leg.”
The band admitted to Judd’s actions and are trying to make it right as they hit the road and perform around the country.
According to an article on THEPRP News, they also have a few upcoming shows in the near future. The most recent one is in San Diego, California on July 25 at Til-Two Club where they will be performing “Reign of the Malicious.” The only other performance booked as of now is in Louisville, Kentucky at Louisville’s Deathfest 2017 on September 29. Nachtmystium is going to be dropping a new EP called “Resilient” at this show. More information on this exclusive performance is available on MXDWN.
