Action Bronson Releases Ridiculous Behind-The-Scenes Style Video for “Let Me Breathe”

Action Bronson gave the Main Stage crowd plenty of love.

Arian Asllani is a Queens rapper that is best known in the rap world as Action Bronson. Recently, he announced that his Blue Chips 700 album will be his third and final installment in his Blue Chips mixtape series. To support the new album, Bronson shared his first single off his forthcoming album. The track is titled “Let Me Breath” and the music video which released earlier this week resembles a behind the scenes featurette. The outlandish video features some crazy appearance from Curb Your Enthusiasm star Jeff Garlin, 6’7” burlesque dancer Amazon Ashley, a full-sized monster truck, and a segment where Bronson kicks a stagehand in the balls and throws him through a wall.

There doesn’t seem to be a clear cut concept behind the music video but for Bronson, it doesn’t really matter. There seems to be nothing but good times being had during the crazy video shoot. The video is just random scenes of Bronson on set trying to put a music video together. “Let Me Breathe” is shot like a behind the scenes video. In it, there is intercutting clips of extras praising Bronson in a documentary style interviews with clips of Bronson hanging out in a monster truck shifting to Bronson teaching distinctive-looking old men how to dance. Nothing makes sense here but that is alright. Even Bronson, when asked to describe the concept outside the warehouse where the video was filmed said that; “I don’t fucking know how to explain this one.” He goes on to say that it’s just “something you have to see for yourself.”

With so many music videos that are released today, with most of them feeling like carbon copies of one another especially in the hip-hop world, getting a video like “Let Me Breathe” may give the impression of something new. The video does feature some hip hop video stereotypes such as the super tall dancer getting her body gawked at but unlike typical videos, in the face of not so typical men. In a sense, “Let Me Breathe” is fresh and shouldn’t be taken seriously. The crew didn’t.

The last time Bronson released a full-length video was back in 2015 with Mr. Wonderful. That doesn’t mean, he hasn’t been busy. Last year, he performed at the Camp Flog festival in Los Angeles. He’s been busy hosting his Viceland shows as well as appearing on talk shows as a celebrity chef. He’s also got a new matchmaking show that is coming to Snapchat sometime in the near future.

The “Let Me Breathe” music video is directed by James Larese and you can watch the crazy fun filled video below.
