Representatives for the NorthSide Festival Say Frank Ocean is Still Currently Scheduled to Perform

Representatives of the NorthSide Festival in Aarhus, Denmark have confirmed that Frank Ocean is still set to play his headlining set during the June 9-11 weekend. Due to production issues, he has previously had to pull out of Primavera, Sasquatch and Hangout Fest.

In addition to Frank Ocean, the headline lineup for NorthSide includes Radiohead, Bastille, Mø, Run the Jewels, Veronica Maggio, Phlake and Thomas Helmig. Additional acts include The 1975, The Kills, James Blake, and others. Visit the NorthSide website to view the full lineup.

In regard to his previous festival cancellations this year, Frank Ocean and his team have continued to cite production issues as the reason why. The most recent cancellation was with Primavera festival, in which the festival released statement saying, “We regret to announce that Frank Ocean’s concert programmed on Friday 2nd June in the Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound festival has been cancelled due to production delays beyond his control. The artist has apologised and has reiterated his wish to come to Barcelona soon.” Hangout Music Fest, located in Alabama, released a similar statement when Frank cancelled, Tweeting that “Due to production delays beyond his control Frank Ocean will be unable to perform. He passes on his apologies & hopes to return to AL soon.”

The initial NorthSide lineup was announced last year in November, and neither Frank nor his team have yet to make a statement about any possible cancellation. This year, the festival announced it will be 100% organic, which is a milestone in its overall goal to become a completely sustainable event. In past years, the festival has enabled refugees to volunteer and plans to continue doing so. According to a press release, “…the progressive, wholesome nature and feel good music vibes of this urban music festival will warm your heart twice over.”

This year’s festival, the 8th in history, is also set to be the biggest yet. The festival site was recently expanded to be able to hold 40,000 attendees, and consequently this year’s festival has included more three-day ticket sales than ever before.

A range of ticket packages as well as lodging is available at the NorthSide website.
