Whenever musicians release new music whether it be a song or a full length album, the world seems like a better place. The idea of hearing something for the first time is always an exciting feeling. For fans of the industrial metal band, Ministry, that feeling is engulfing their hearts right now. A PledgeMusic campaign was launched by the band, Ministry to coincide with their announcement of AmeriKKKant, the band’s 14th album. The industrial metal band which was founded in 1981 performed live during Glenn Danzig’s Blackest of the Black festival. The band teased fans with new material from the album as seen in a newly posted fan video. The video shows fans an idea of what kind of direction the new album will take.

Al Jourgensen, lead singer of the band, informed the audience during their set that their next song was a new one. They were met by cheers but also with some hostility when at least one fan started throwing stuff on stage. Jokingly, Al played along when he quipped back; “All right, already with the throwing – we haven’t even played this s-t yet! F-k you,” before raising his middle finger to the crowd. Afterwards, the band dived into their new song, “Antifas”

The song, “Antifas” powers up with a doom and gloom sounding music which pounds across the stage as Al delivers lines like “I’ve got something to say to you / I’m backing it up with my fist / Sick and tired of dealing with a-holes / That’s why I resist,” He stalks the stage throughout the performance building tension with every lyric. He screams out, “We are the antifas.” as the lights flash and smoke rises. The song ends and fans cheer which is always a good sign of a good song.

Details surrounding AmeriKKKant is still hazy with no track listing, artwork and actual release date not yet available to the public. According to the PledgeMusic site, the album will feature guest artists including DJ Swam (Beck), Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), Arabian Prince (NWA), and Lord of the Cello. The release date will probably be some time in the fall with the release of the vinyl some time in January.

What fans can do at the moment is pre-order the album. After that, they can dive deeper into the Ministry’s PledgeMusic campaign and explore the opportunities open to them through the campaign. By ordering the album and vinyl through the PledgeMusic site, fans will get access to updates, bonus content, video clips and much more.
