David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring Bon Iver, The Kills and TV On The Radio

David Lynch is one busy director. Known for his films, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet and Mullolland Drive, Lynch’s name is back making headlines. Not only is Lynch’s weirdly addictive show of Twin Peak returning for a third season after being away for over 20 years, but Lynch is back curating the Festival of Disruption for the second time.

When it first came around last fall, it was a sold out festival. The second edition will happen October of the 14th and 15th at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown LA. The second iteration of the festival will showcase David Lynch’s favorite creatives across disciplines and genres for a unique lineup of musical and artistic performances, talks, film screenings, art exhibits, mediation sessions and much more. The goal of the festival is to raise consciousness and funds for the David Lynch Foundation.

The festival will feature performances by Bon Iver (as a rare Justin Vernon solo set), TV On The Radio, The Kills, Sharon van Etten (her first live performance since January 2017), Laura Marling, Reggie Watts and more. It will also have talks by Kristine McKenna with Ed Ruscha, Bill Pullman, Sheryl Lee, Pete Holmes and Twin Peaks Collaborations: Duwayne Dunham, Dean Hurley, Johanna Ray and Gary D’Amico. Other showcases will include art exhibits by William Eggleston and David Lynch, film screenings of Lost Highway, Los Angeles Plays Itself, Don’t Look At Me and some rare shorts by David Lynch himself. In addition to these amazing performances, the festival has added singer Rebekah Del Rio who was featured in both Twin Peaks and the Mulholland Drive soundtracks to perform as well as a conversation between Bill Hader and David Lynch Foundation executive director Bob Roth.

The world of David Lynch is an interesting one, full of the weird and the strange. For those who have followed Lynch’s career are in for an experience like Alice had in Wonderland. Follow Lynch through music, art and performance and by doing so will help give back to the wonderful work while help of the David Lynch Foundation. Last year was a highly successful event as the inaugural Festival of Disruption brought together a sold out festival that included Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters, St. Vincent, Questlove, Kyle MacLachlan & Laura Dern, Mel Brooks, John Malkovich, Frank Gehry, Blondie’s Debbie Harry & Chris Stein as well as many more.

The festival will raise funds and awareness for Lynch’s charitable foundation called the David Lynch Foundation. Their mission is to reduce toxic stress and trauma among at-risk populations, including victims of domestic violence, veterans suffering from PTSD, and underserved urban youth, through the evidence-based Transcendental Meditation technique. The foundation has reached more than 500,00 people since starting in 2005.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale Friday, June 2nd at 9am through all markets via the festival website and AXS ticketing.
