According to SPIN, in an effort to help the victims of the bombing in Manchester, Liam Gallegher has announced a new album titled As You Were along with a Manchester benefit concert.
The former Oasis and Beady Eye vocalist made pre-orders of his single available in the U.K. with the song set to officially drop June 1st. “Wall Of Glass” will act as the preview of his new album titled As You Were. He then revealed that he will be putting on a benefit concert in his hometown of Manchester. The profits of the May 30th solo O2 Ritz benefit concert will go towards the deadly suicide attack.
Recently, during an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester the crowd started to scatter all over after many said they heard an explosion. It was later revealed that it was indeed an explosion, but from a suicide bomber. NBC News reported that 2o people were dead as a result of such a horrific act.
The benefit concert for Manchester will be the first of 4 as we approach the release date of Gallegher’s new album As You Were, which gets its titled from Liam’s famous use of the same phrase as a Twitter sign off.
In an interview, we were able to learn that the album will be released on October 1st and will feature a collaboration with a well known songwriter/producer. Greg Kurstin, who has worked with Adele, among other will assisting Gallegher with the musical aspects of an album, aspects that Gallegher has admitted to not being the best at.
