Often fans develop a certain perception of an artist that their life is nothing but fame and riches and they have nothing to be depressed about. Often a fan feels privileged to any details that has to do with the life of an artist simply because you chose to get a song or album. Here we have an example of that. According to LOUDWIRE, a member of one of the most famous bands in music who has dealt with screaming privileged fans for years but has also dealing with a deep dark secret for years.

In an interview with Viceland for their series , ‘The Therapist”, Slipknot/ Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor revealed that he was sexually assaulted when he was 10 years old. Taylor sat and spoke with Dr.Siri Sat Sam Singh about the difficult and dark parts of his life that aren’t known by most fans. From domestic violence, drug abuse, poverty, an attempt at suicide and also being raped.

Taylor had this to say about the horrific moment in his life,“I was raped by someone in the neighborhood, Where we were living at the time—we moved around a lot so obviously I had to make friends quickly. There was really only one person to hang out with, to play with and he was this 16-year-old kid. And he would invite me over to his house to play music and one day it became something else.”

He went on to say, “I didn’t tell anybody for a long time because he threatened to hurt me and threatened to hurt my mom,” Taylor added. “He ended up burning his house down. They fled in the night, it was kind of crazy. It took me a long time to feel safe. I didn’t tell anybody until I was, probably, 18. By that time, I had found my tribe, as it were, of misfits.”

After discussing the dark time he went through as a child he revealed that all he has ever wanted to do was be a father and make sure that his child never has to go through what he did at such a young age. He went on to speak on how important a solid foundation is to raising a child in this world of troubles they have yet to have to deal with.
