One of the most popular popular post-punk revival bands the world has seen is taking no time off. Franz Ferdinand, the Scottish rock based in Glasgow is back on tour. Though he have been quite on the album front, new music has been trickling out from the band including their most recent single “Demagogue” which features the bottom half of what seems to be President Trump’s face as the cover art. The lyrics add validity to the claim but Franz Ferdinand doesn’t seem to be hiding anything.
In 2016 the band saw the departure of lead vocalist Nick McCarthy who left to tend to family matters. While he no longer records or tours with the band, that does not erase the tremendous history and legacy he leaves behind. Between 2004 and 2006 Franz Ferdinand won or was nominated 12 times across various award ceremonies including NME Phil Radar Award, Brit Awards for Best Rock Group and the Meteor Music Awards for Best International Group. They also have four studio albums that were released between 2004 and 2013 all while touring the world, numerous times over.
On Monday June, 12 Franz Ferdinand will continue their legacy as they rock through Los Angeles, pummeling stages, swinging from mic cables and knocking over amps at the Regent Theater. Tickets are flying, so act fast!
