Paramore Debuts New Video for Summery Electro-Pop Single “Told You So”

Paramore have released a new video to go with their single “Told You So,” off of the forthcoming album, After Laughter.

The video shows lead singer Hayley Williams alone in a house, seeming bored and un-inspired. The rest of the band, Taylor York and Zac Farro, are meanwhile driving around decked out in all-red outfits, complete with gloves, glasses and berets. They both seem to be looking for something, and end up happening upon Williams, who flags them down in the middle of the night. For the remainder of the song, she joins them in their all-red road trip, now seeming happy to be where she is. View the full video below:

After Laughter is out May 12 via Fueled by Ramen, which the band has been signed to since their major-label debut in 2007. Their most recent album, the self-titled Paramore, was released in 2013, and had several singles reach top-ten positions on various charts within the U.S. Several were also certified double platinum by the RIAA. Paramore was also the first album released after the departure of founding members Josh and Zac Farro, who both began outside projects, although Zac recently rejoined Paramore in February of this year. The album was also the last to feature bassist Jeremy Davis, who entered a legal battle with Williams in 2016 over writing credits and royalties.

After Laughter’s possible track listing was made available last month after the band posted a list of 12 songs they registered with the The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ACE Repertory. The list included “Told You So,” and credits majority of the songwriting to Williams and York, with Zac Farro on three tracks. Watch the video of Paramore performing last month with original drummer Zac Farro for the first time in seven years. Together, the band covered Radiohead’s “House of Cards.”
