Pop-rockers, and one of the most exciting new acts in music, Haim, have been teasing fans throughout April with a series of Billboards. While fans have been anxiously (and impatiently waiting) for the big announcement, there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
Today, the band has announced that their sophomore album, Something to Tell You, will be released this summer. The follow-up to 2013’s critically and commercially acclaimed debut Days Are Gone will be out for fans this July 7. Haim has already shared a few details about the album, including the more “organic” production of this new record as well as working with Rostam Batmangjlij (formerly of Vampire Weekend) as well as Days Are Gone producer Ariel Rechtshaid.
Haim didn’t leave fans empty-handed with just an announcement, though. They also shared visuals for the first single, “Right Now.” The track is minimalist but still impressive, with Alana and Esme switching instruments on the fly to create contrasting textures and layers throughout the song, all over Danielle’s growling and yet soothing vocals and keys. The “live” studio session is meant to give fans a peek into the band’s organic songwriting process, and while it doesn’t scream “summer hit,” right away, it has all the hallmarks of a sleeper hit, one that will replay itself in your head a week later.
Check out the new video below and try your best to make it to July 7.
