Haim gave fans a small Christmas present this past December when they promised a summer 2017 release for their new album, and it looks like they plan to make good on that promise.
This week, several “HAIM” billboards have started popping up around the world. London, Berlin, Sydney, and several in Haim’s base of operations, Los Angeles.
Adding fuel to the fire is some recent social media activity by the band’s record label, Polydor. This morning, the label reportedly tweeted “New Haim Coming,” though the tweet was promptly removed (their intern must be in trouble now). However, a new tweet did emerge shortly after with the infamous eye emjoi, directing fans to a story about the new billboards.

The news comes as a sight for sore eyes for fans of the alt-pop sisters, as the band hasn’t release a project since their first full-length Days Are Gone back in 2013, when the band first started making waves across the music community. The band first mentioned their new album in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where they confirmed two producers for the new project, former Vampire Weekender Rostam Batmanglij and previous collaborator for Days Are Gone Ariel Rechtshaid. On top of the new producers, the new material was produced from “a more organic, rock standpoint,” according to Danielle Haim. A few of those tracks have leaked into live performances. Two new songs, “Give Me Just a Little of Your Love” and “Nothing’s Wrong,” have been performed at several shows over the past two years, and will most likely find a home on this new project. [UPDATE 4/20]: It looks like Haim is up to something. In a trailer released by the group, the band hints at something coming next Thursday on April 27. While it could be anything, the safe bet is the announcement of their sophomore album. Stay tuned.
[UPDATE 4/25]: Haim season appears to be upon us as the band released another cryptic teaser ahead of their April 27 announcement.
