KROQ Weenie Roast Festival Announces 2017 Lineup Featuring Lorde, Cage the Elephant and Paramore

The time has come to break out your skewer and stock up on hot dog buns cause KROQ’s 15 annual Weenie Roast Festival is so close you can smell the BBQ. That also means the lineup is released and it brags of big names like Lorde, Cage the Elephant, Lana Del Rey, Incubus, and Paramore. Imagine Dragons and DREAMCAR are also notable performers set to play this year. Since its beginning in 1993, the Los Angeles music festival has been bringing the party to Southern California and this year the event takes place on May 20 at the StubHub Center. Proceeds from the Weenie Roast Festival are donated to various conservation causes in the city like the Surfrider Foundation and Heal the Bay.

Last year festival goers may remember The Red Hot Chilli Peppers cancelling their headlining act just thirty minutes before they were set to go on stage after band member Anthony Kiedis was checked into the hospital for severe stomach pain. Weezer hurridly stepped in for the group to take over the headlining spot, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers never opted for a make-up show. Other headlining acts over the years has included Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Metallica, The Offspring, and Linkin Park. The festival has traditionally been held at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, but moved the venue after their lease expired last year.

McKenzie Dillon: University of Nevada, Reno Alumna. I graduated with a major in writing and a minor in journalism. I enjoy reading, writing, and listening to music of course. I was raised in the bay area, and am thrilled to be living back in California. Catch me at your local music festival, because there's nothing better than laying back in the grass and listening to your favorite bands or discovering new ones.
